Rochester native (Brighton HS) David Moss is the Paul Whiton Cherington Professor at Harvard Business School, where he teaches in the Business, Government, and the International Economy (BGIE) unit. He earned his B.A. from Cornell and his Ph.D. from Yale. He joined the Harvard Business School faculty in July 1993.
Professor Moss’s early research focused on economic policy and especially the government’s role as a risk manager. More recently, Professor Moss has devoted increasing attention to questions pertaining to government regulation, economic inequality, and democratic governance.
Professor Moss is the founder of the Tobin Project, a nonprofit research organization that has received the MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions.
